Fall Events In The Lower Hudson Valley

Halloween is fast approaching, and there are plenty of seasonal and ghoulish activities happening in the Lower Hudson Valley right now!  One of my favorites is The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze which is running now at Van Cortlandt Manor in Croton-on-Hudson.  This event traditionally sells out very quickly but it's worth trying to get tickets!  It's great for the whole family and the pumpkin displays are outstanding every year.  There are more than 5,000 individually hand carved pumpkins all illuminated at night. This is one not to be missed and is running through November 16th.

If you want to leave the little ones at home and have a terrifying evening, check out The  Horseman’s Hollow ( The Legend of Sleepy Hollow), at Philipsburg Manor in Sleepy Hollow New York.  For thirteen nights, The Manor is transformed to allow visitors an encounter with the spooky and  the gory.  It will scare the pants off you with unexpected terrifying special effects along the haunted trail.   The costumes and realistic makeup worn by the live actors is absolutely terrifying and unsettling.  This horror attraction runs through November 1st this year.  If you love being scared, come check out out the real "live" walking dead!
