Nyack Says Good Bye And Good Riddance To Winter

The spring equinox heralds the end of winter as daylight is now longer than night until the summer solstice. It has been a long cold winter, but no records were broken. We had 57” of snow; much less than the 75” we suffered through in ’95-96. We had some deep snow storms but none close to the 27” dropped during the blizzard of 2006. It was cold, with an average temperature of 28 degrees. This is below the 100 year average of 32 degrees, but again far from the coldest winter ever. Our lowest temperature of -1 was balmy compared to the lowest ever -15 degrees Fahrenheit.
All-in-All, not the worst winter ever, but I am sure glad to see it go!!!
