A Taste Of Wine Country In Downtown Manhattan

Tired of the same old thing? I just saw a show at City Winery last week, located at 155 Varick St  New York, NY. What a wonderful surprise! With a group of friends we took the short trip into the city from downtown Nyack and I even found parking on the street. What a great place... it's a real winery! They have a great bar, wine tastings, wine classes, facilities for private parties. But best of all... is this very intimate venue that hosts concerts and the food is amazing! I happened to see Paula Poundstone in concert, the room seats about 200 people, the doors open at 6, so you can have a great meal, great wine and then the show starts at 8:00. Definitely high on my list of favorite restaurants, and if you have never seen Paula let me tell you.... she is one funny lady! Not the run-of-the-mill comedy act, her off the cuff humor will literally make you hurt with laughter.
City Winery was voted, The Best Brunch in NYC by Time Out New York. This summer, they are featuring the Tuesday summer series, The 5th Annual Hudson Square Music & Wine Festival, FREE, - This is an "After-Work Backyard Party @ 5:30 in the courtyard with food and wine, available.  Check out the upcoming line-up of shows and events... something every night. There are plenty of reasons to hang out at City Winery.
