Tappan Vineyard Year Three Update

Deer and insects notwithstanding, my two grape vines continue to grow apace.  I took down the protective chicken wire, and added a trellis for the vines to grow around.  Actual grapes are supposed to arrive during the third year, but so far, none have appeared.  I have yet to prune the vines, which is something you are supposed to do, but I just can't bring myself to do it- at least not just yet.  I want the vines to grow up the trellis more than I want the grapes.  The trellis is going to act as an entry to an enclosed area that now holds a small Victorian-era pond with a resident turtle.  I've planted hemlock bushes around the sides, and a blue stone path will lead from the trellis to the pond.  When the bushes are grown, I'll add a chair, take a book and a drink, and just sit.
