Wow! How did you know that is my all time pet peeve???? I absolutely abhor strong smelling perfumes, especially at dinner, and especially at an expensive restaurant! The problem is...these women, and sometimes men, don't realize that their aroma may be offensive to others. No one wants to smell bad! To be honest, I sometimes SPRAY IT ON THICK, but mine smells good! (see what I mean) So how does an establishment such as the noted bistro deal with such situations....? Maybe Mayor Bloomberg is indeed the answer. Either that or smell detectors at the entrance to restaurants!
