Something Stinks In The Village Of Nyack

I was sitting at a wonderful little Bistro in Central Nyack with my wife the other night. Aromas of herbs, spices, and savory food filled out heads with visions of the delicious meal we were about to enjoy. A couple was seated at the table next to us, and my taste buds dried up as the stink of bad cologne or perfume wafted across our table. We asked to be moved, but the stench remained in my nose as a great culinary experience was blemished beyond repair. Maybe I am too sensitive, but I think there has to be a limit to the amount of artificial scent one chooses to put on and subject innocent bystanders to.  I hope my favorite Mayor, Mike Bloomberg, will find this to be his next great crusade, and save us all from secondary perfume.

Wow! How did you know that is my all time pet peeve???? I absolutely abhor strong smelling perfumes, especially at dinner, and especially at an expensive restaurant! The problem is...these women, and sometimes men, don't realize that their aroma may be offensive to others. No one wants to smell bad! To be honest, I sometimes SPRAY IT ON THICK, but mine smells good! (see what I mean) So how does an establishment such as the noted bistro deal with such situations....? Maybe Mayor Bloomberg is indeed the answer. Either that or smell detectors at the entrance to restaurants!
