Just over the Tappan Zee Bridge in Sleepy Hollow NY enjoy this wonderful hike with panoramic Hudson River views. Rockwood Hall is just one of many trails at The Rockefeller State Park Preserve. This easy 2.5 mile hike is located 3.5 miles from the Thruway exit in Sleepy Hollow. It is the site of William Rockefeller’s summer home, built in the late 1800’s, Rockwood Hall was a 204-room mansion. Following Rockefeller’s death in 1942, the mansion was razed and 1999 the property was donated to New York State. Directions: NY State Thruway to Tappan Zee Bridge, take exit 9. Turn right at top of ramp to US 9 for approx. 3.5 miles after crossing under NY117 turn right Rockwood Road then follow signs for Kendall on Hudson.
