Nyack Library Spring Events And Programs
I received the Nyack Library Bookend brochure today in the mail and I'm reading through it as I watch the snow falling yet again...will spring ever arrive???
Despite the snow and with Spring less than 3 weeks away, I decided to be positive and look forward to all the programs and events that the Nyack Library has to offer this spring rather than dwell upon being home bound, and I thought I'd share a few of them with you.
Think Spring, thin green and gardens...so the Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Speakers Series is offering 3 programs to get you focused on getting your hands dirty instead of snowy...
March 26 7 pm Raised Beds for Vegetable Gardens presented by Steven Becker,
April 30 7 pm Container Gardening for Spring and Summer, presented by Vivienne Dieckmann,
May 28 7 pm Edible Landscaping, presented by Donna De Sousa
Other events include poetry readings, lectures, discussions, art workshops, computer classes, yoga demonstrations, and the very popular Carnegie Concert Series.
You can also join any of the Literature and Discussion Workshops. The Fiction Book Club meets on the 1st Wednesday of the month beginning March 7, and the Non-Fiction Book Club meets the 1st Thursday of the Month beginning March 5.
For you 20-30 somethings there is the Book & Pub Club which meets at a different local bar every month.
Of course there are children and family programs as well as teen programs and events, just to name a few.
I just touched upon a small number of activities and events that will take place in Nyack over the next few months. For more information you should contact the Nyack Library at nyacklibrary.org, or call 845-358-3370.
