Rockland County NY issues Weather Alert

The National Weather Service issues an excessive heat warning for today July 22 through the evening. Heat index values to reach 105 to 115. Drink plenty of water, check on elderly friends and family and avoid physical activities during peak hours. Rockland Gas and Electric in Spring Valley, NY has reported very limited power outages in New City as of 10am this morning. If Your Power goes Out.... Check with neighbors to see if they lost power, too. If so, call us toll-free at 1-877-434-4100 to report the outage or use our online Outage Report Form, accessible from any Web-enabled PC, laptop, cell phone, PDA, or similar device with an Internet connection If yours is the only house on the street without electricity: Check to see if fuses are blown or tripped circuit breakers. If the problem is in the fuse box, move the main switch to the Off position. Replace any blown fuses, then return the main switch back to On. To reset a circuit breaker, switch the breaker to Off, then back to On. Stay Cool and turn off all unnecessary lights and appliances.
